Information Technology Fluency III - CIT13

Weekly Schedule

Week Information
Assignments due in one week unless otherwise stated. I may add some things during the week, so double check the schedule each week! Please keep copies of all work you submit until you receive your final grade at the end of the semester.
Unit #3 This unit I would like you to do some research on packages that can be used to develop a portfolio and some research on what should go into a portfolio. I would like you to see if you can find some pages to test. I would also like you to review your HTML and make sure that you are comfortable making a basic web page. That is another way you can do a portfolio.
This is an introduction to making a portfolio that I give to CIS majors. You can check it out as well.
Notes on developing a portfolio
Assignments:
Please report back to me on your research and also write a simple HTML page to introduce yourself to me and send it to me.
Unit #1 Since the summer has less weeks than the other semesters, I use units in the summer. You will have the same 15 units that I give every other semester and you will have to decide how to handle the extras, I will start posting them this week to give you the flexibility to get through them at a pace and on a schedule that works for both of us.
This course can be tailored to some degree to meet your interests. If there are particular things you are interested in pursuing, be sure to let me know.
I want you to pick an application package that can be used to create graphics/images that you do not know and learn how to use it effectively. You can pick a package in our lab, a package that allows for a free trial download, or freeware/shareware. Note these are references I have been given, not that I have tried!
Note also that this software might be helpful when you do your project!
Possible places to look include:
SourceForge software
Adobe tryouts
About article on Free Graphics Software
Assignments:
I want you to report back to me what package you used, the process you went through to learn the package, the problems you encountered and the steps you took to overcome them. Show me a product!
