| Week #1 Assignments Week of July 12th |
This schedule is assuming the 5 week option and assuming you are starting
the week of July 12th.
Read chapter #10, chapter #12 and chapter #13.. We are going to start out this semester looking at StarLogo. You will find a presentation under presentations and you will find a list of StarLogo commands under notes. You should also look at the information about StarLogo procedures which you will find under Notes. If you do not want to work in the labs, you will need to download and install a version of StarLogo which is available at: StarLogo On campus, StarLogo is available in K130 and in K205. Start to get acquainted with Access. If you do not have a book about Access, contact me and I will find one for you. There are a series of PowerPoint presentations that will take you through the basics for this assignment. Assignments: During the semester, I would like you to read 25 articles and make a log book of the articles you read. The articles should be web articles on the subjects we are discussing and related to your field of study. Read chapter #14 and chapter #15. You should look up information on SQL on the web. You should look at the PowerPoint presentations on SQL at the site and you might check out the notes as well. Look at the following PowerPoint Presentation that talks about if statements: Presentation on logical if structures Separate speaker notes to accompany presentation on logical if structures Be sure to look at the PowerPoint presentations about SQL. Assignments: Using Access, I want you to create the following two databases: Student database example Payroll database example Query Assignment Chapter #15: Do the exercises on page 428. |
